Aloha Members Near and Far,
Only 3 months to go before 2015 is here, but let’s not rush, I am enjoying 2014 and looking forward to the holiday season. Hawaii Yacht Club is really the best venue to hold your holiday parties, the view is unmatchable and the food unbeatable.
If there is one holiday gift that you can give back to the club it is by introducing at least two new members by the end of the year. Your gift will allow us to do long needed renovations and improve our amenities. We all have a vested interest in the club’s future and we need to be proactive. Recruit, recruit and recruit, thank you.
We have a new Members’ Services Administrator in the office, Kylee has taken over for Sharon, so stop and say hi to her so that she can put a face to the name. NormaJean Cavell has volunteered to chair the Welcoming committee, a role that she excels in, being the Aloha and Welcoming chair during the last 6 Transpac. Normajean will be involved in meeting the prospective members during their interviews, through their inductions and during their first months as new member. She aims at making sure our new members feel as if they are part of the family from the beginning. Please try to remember who our new members are and let them know that you appreciate having them in our fold.
As I write this, we are getting ready for our Open House membership Drive next weekend; I’ll have the full story in our next month’s bulletin.
Our Yard Sale has not been well attended, we need vendors and buyers, find your treasure in somebody else’s junk box. It’s not all junk; you will find some beautiful jewelry made by members, perfect gifts for Christmas. Archie Shelton will continue to bring a classic car for your viewing pleasure and photo opps.
The perfect gift for a boss, employee, client or family member? A Hawaii Yacht Club membership! During our last quarter, you can purchase the initiation fee and the pro-rated quarter. You are giving more than an entry card; you are gifting them a life style and a lifelong friendship with other members and the honor to say that they belong to one of the oldest yacht clubs in the nation and one that counts Hawaiian Royalty as some of the original members.
If that’s not in your budget, visit the Ships Store for your Christmas Shopping.
